NZD 120000 - 140000 per annum, Attractive salaryMagnetic is proud to be on the search for a Senior Project Manager to join our fantastic engineering client based in the Manawatu. As a leading provider of innovative engineering solutions across New Zealand, our client is known for delivering high-quality, cost-effective projects within the construction and industrial sectors.In this role, the Senior Project Manager will manage complex, high-value projects while acting as a mentor to project team colleagues and fostering a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement across the business it's network. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of challenging capital infrastructure projects while setting a high standard for the rest of the team.This Manawatu based role will report directly to the General Manager and is responsible for managing projects end-to-end. In many cases these are highly complex structural engineering projects on behalf of long-standing clients, and you'll work closely with key stakeholders, engineering consultants and the end customer to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard. You'll ensure projects meet expectations, can be completed on schedule, and ideally within budget, all while maintaining quality and safety.We ideally seek someone with a natural tendency for leading from the front as this role will grow into the business over time. With key individuals nearing retirement, there are some experienced boots to fill in time, offering the potential for career growth for the right person, with the opportunity to transition into a Project team leadership role in the future. You'll have strong experience in project management frameworks and theory with demonstrated delivery in in projects from $500k to $10m value.Key Responsibilities:Manage the lifecycle of complex engineering projects, ensuring on time, on budget, to specifications.Act as knowledge expert and guide for wider project team, providing support and setting a high standard for quality, safety, and performance.Collaborate with the estimation team to prepare accurate and competitive tenders in the pre-project phase.Oversee project scheduling, procurement, and resource management.Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and health and safety regulations on all projects.Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices and manage project invoicing.Conduct regular project reviews, debrief meetings, and capture lessons learned for future improvements.Monitor project performance and provide regular updates to senior management.Key Requirements:Relevant tertiary qualifications, minimum bachelor's degree.Preference for PMP or Prince2 qualificationsStrong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with wide-ranging stakeholders.CAD drawing and drafting experience, with the ability to create and interpret technical drawings.Strong leadership and mentoring experience, with a proven ability to guide and motivate teams.Extensive experience in managing complex engineering projects, ideally within NZ and within the construction or industrial sectors.Solid understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.Experience in ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 quality management standards and health and safety regulations.Key Benefits:Competitive salary with opportunities for career advancement.Stable and successful company with a strong pipeline of work, and a senior position to boot.Work on high-profile, technically complex engineering projects.Contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery and operational efficiency.Support for ongoing professional development and training.Potential to transition into a Project leadership role for the right candidate.To apply, please APPLY NOW with your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and how you would add value in this role to Magnetic.
