We have ambitions to be a global hub and a comprehensive development programme to deliver this vision.As the person responsible for the safe, timely and successful delivery of a significant portion of the airport capital programme, the Project Manager plays a key leadership role in the business, responsible for either:A single major project exceeding circa $200M in valueMultiple related projects with a combined value typically exceeding $200MMultiple projects with a combined value less than $200M, but with an unusually high level of (typically operational) complexity and riskKey responsibilities are, but not limited to:Ensure projects are managed, across all stages, to achieve the outcomes expected of the project, including specific requirements of the brief: cost, time, quality, safety and environmentTotal project delivery is planned, and Auckland Airport Infrastructure delivery methodologies are appliedProject sponsor relationships are positive, and they are supportive of the performance of the projectThe external appearance of sites is given appropriate care and attention; hoardings are used as storytelling opportunities where appropriateRisk and opportunity within the programme is actively managed, synergies are maximised and project interfaces proactively managedSuccessfully lead and manage a defined project, from feasibility through to completion, retain prime responsibility and accountability for mandated project deliverables ensure that all project changes are appropriately managed so that impacts on cost and programme are kept to a minimum.Collaborate with other Airport Infrastructure Project Managers to ensure that risk and opportunity within the programme is actively managed, synergies are maximised and project interfaces optimised.Collaborate with other Airport Infrastructure Project Managers to share resources and approaches as part of a continuous improvement cultureEnsure that airline stakeholder support for the project is secured and maintained through the MACPAC (Monthly Aeronautical Capital Plan Airline Consultation) processActively manage performance and personal development of your team members including regular one-on-one meetings, development planning, support and regular performance reviewsWhat you will bring to the roleTertiary level professional qualification in Construction, Engineering or Project Management15 years+ experience in (preferably) large-scale project deliveryExtensive experience leading the full lifecycle of the project, from inception to commissioning and handover, including project team formation (designers and contractor teams)Previous success leading project design activity, commercial management, and key stakeholder engagement to achieve project outcomesDetailed knowledge and understanding of project delivery processes and supply chainsProven leader of people with the ability to engage at all levels Ability to both think and act strategically in a dynamic and complex environment, while maintaining project-specific deliverablesDemonstrated ability to leverage optimal outcomes from diverse and sometimes conflicting prioritiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills including working with Boards and senior executivesOutstanding stakeholder management skillsDemonstrated commercial acumen and ability to successfully navigate and resolve significant challenges affecting project performance and/or outcomesProactive in finding and implementing practical solutions to technical problemsPreferably, experience with the delivery of airport infrastructure projects and/or large, complex infrastructure development projects in a live environment.Robust understanding of risk analysis and risk managementAbout usAuckland Airport is more than just a business.
