Transitioning Auckland's transport network on such a mammoth scale is no mean feat and we need a talented team to ensure we are up to this task. The Senior Project Manager manages projects with attributes assessed to be of typical complexity and leads project teams to deliver Auckland Transport (AT) projects which are safe, customer centric and value for money. The role includes detail design management, stakeholder management, procurement, contract management and construction management. The role will work as part of a project team, with limited supervision, for more complex projects. Multiple smaller or less complex projects may be managed by this role. Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity Establishing and leading project teams (both from within AT and external) for typical projects to enable the successful delivery of AT business objectives and optimise time, cost and quality project performance outcomes. Leading and monitoring project teams in applying the programme and project management principles, processes, procedures and reporting requirements outlined in the AT Enterprise Project Management Framework and providing expert advice on legislation, regulations, guidelines and standards. Ensuring project strategies, plans and activities incorporate the safety philosophy of 'Vision Zero" and overall programme and organisational and workplace safety. Making sound decisions based on analysis of complex data and supportive research. Working collaboratively with other project managers and teams to ensure alignment and consistency across the programmes. Leading input into internal and external reporting and requirements and promoting a culture of continuous improvement in relation to all required reporting. Leading complex tender processes, implementing procurement strategies and effective governance arrangements to monitor provider, supplier and contractor performance. Communicating effectively with key project stakeholders to build trust and persuade. Ko koe tenei | About you Relevant industry-recognised tertiary qualification in engineering, construction or project management. Desirable would be a relevant postgraduate or professional qualification (PMP or PRINCE2 or equivalent). Full membership of relevant professional body. Minimum of 5 years' post graduate experience in engineering or project management. Ideally experience in working with SAP or equivalent finance management system. Good understanding of, and ability to apply, safety in investigation, design, construction project stages including relevant Health & Safety regulations and legislation. Excellent knowledge of budgeting with proven disciplined approach to managing a project budget, monitoring financial performance and identifying risks early.
