He angitutanga | About the role How would you like to significantly impact how DOC collects revenue, manages visitor pressure and supports conservation efforts?
DOC has a unique opportunity to lead an exciting project aimed at improving the financial sustainability of its visitor network.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of scoping, designing, and delivering the Paid Parking Pilot project, ensuring it is completed on schedule and within budget.
You will conduct research and work with stakeholders to design revenue collection and demand management tools for piloting at three busy car parks.
You'll lead the evaluation of the pilot and develop an implementation plan for charging at other sites.
This position will require travel approximately six to eight times per year.
The position will be focussed on: * developing and managing the project management plan and processes to deliver the paid parking pilot * performing commercial analysis to evaluate options, including technology solutions, and monitoring and assessing the results * managing relationships and engagement with internal and external stakeholders * managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively * identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful project delivery * working with operations teams to implement paid parking on-site, refining solutions as needed, and transitioning to business-as-usual operations.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience If you have most of the following, we are keen to hear from you: * Proven ability to lead complex projects from inception through to successful execution, with a solid understanding of project management methodologies and processes.
* Strong experience in contract management and the capability to oversee procurement processes are essential.
* Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with experience in testing approaches to increase revenue and evaluating results.
* Outstanding skills in building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Ability to develop and implement strategic solutions and conduct in-depth analysis.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft ministerial memos and updates for senior leadership.
* A current full New Zealand driver license.
Desirable: * Knowledge of New Zealand's recreation and tourism sectors along with understanding of visitor management.

The Experience Management and Commercial Team, which includes this role, is responsible for the product management of great visitor experiences and improving DOC's financial outcomes.
