Te Whiwhinga mahi| The opportunity A key role, reporting to the Business Improvement & Support Practice Manager, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering projects under the Emergency Management Improvement Programme (EMIP).
This role interfaces with teams within Auckland Transport and Waka Kotahi for a one network, one customer approach in delivering the EMIP improvement projects. It also incluces interfaces & collaboration with other partner agencies including and not limited to Auckland Emergency Management, ASM, Metservice, Auckland Council etc.
Establishing programme oversight of EMIP and developing programme cadence.Progress and performance reporting to ATOC's Joint Management Board and other leadership forumsWorking collaboratively with multitude of teams and groups across AT, Waka Kotahi and other partner agencies to identify solutions to implement EMIP recommendations.Leading and engaging in development of project management best practice and project/ programme management framework within EMIPManaging assigned budgets for EMIP and applying fiscal stewardshipA strong communicator and influencer, with excellent analytical and delivery skills combined with sound judgment and good decision-making processes. Experienced in the successful delivery of projects in a large complex organisation and possessing a solid understanding and experience managing projects in an Agile environment.
To be successful in this role you will need - 
Tertiary qualification in an industry recognised field (Project or Programme Management, Engineering)Prior experience/Certifications in Agile or Six Sigma or similarRelevant postgraduate or professional qualification (PMP, PRINCE 2 or equivalent)A minimum of 10 years' experience in project management in a complex organisationExperience in developing and applying programme and project cadence as well as evidence of project deliveryGood understanding and appreciation of Emergency ManagementGood understanding of Auckland Transport and Waka Kotahi and workings of government agenciesHigh level of resilience and persistence with ability to manage challenging, ambiguous and complex issues calmly and logicallyAt AT, weembraceinclusion and fully support building a diverse workplace where people come first and we feel safe, respected, valued and supported, inclusive of our differences.Our values are more than just words - they are integral to everything we do. Manaakitanga - We care, Tiakitanga - Safe with us, Whanaungatanga - We connect, Auahatanga - Better, bolder, together.
