If you're interested to work as a Senior Project Engineer, based in Auckland, New Zealand, we'll offer you the support to make it happen! This is your role. What part will you play? In this role, you will provide project engineering leadership to our railway signalling projects. You will ensure projects are delivered to the required quality and safety standards, and delivered to project timescales. This will be achieved through high coordination and collaboration of all engineering disciplines within projects. As a Project Engineer, you will also be expected to act as the Project Engineering Manager as part of the delivery function of our business, with room for growth to support larger projects as part of your development. You will: Ensure that the technical standards are maintained in all aspects of signalling project work, in order that safe and successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved. Participate in and monitor the planning and progress of works in relation to timeline and budget and ensure that the development, design, construction and testing requirements are met and effect remedial action when required. Assist with forecasting the overall engineering resources and key skills necessary for allocated projects in sufficient time to ensure that they can be provided. Evaluate the quality and technical accuracy of tenders and make recommendations to obtain the best available commercial award for the Company. Discharge safety responsibilities in relation to local legislation, Health and Safety legislation, Company procedures including development of the project Safety Plan. Maintain continuous communication with contractors and customers in the development and implementation of projects to ensure a uniformity of purpose and common targets. Coordinate the engineering activities of sub-contractors. Review, assess, and manage the engineering aspects of project changes, including the impacts on the wider portfolio. Perform duties as directed by senior management from time to time. Use your engineering experience to provide leadership to junior members of the team, in support of the team leader. Use your skills to move the world forward. You have 5+ years of proven project engineering experience, ideally but not necessarily in rail signalling projects. You have a Tertiary education in engineering and/or other relevant disciplines, or significant relevant experience. We'd love to see your experience in all aspects of Signal and Railway Engineering. You are a self-motivated person with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, being a key client interface for our business. You have initiative and a drive to learn, particularly if not from a railway signalling background. You'll use your strong leadership qualities to support the team leader in the growth and development of the team, sharing your expertise to improve the effectiveness of our team. You will ideally be a member of a relevant professional body and can demonstrate continuing professional development.
