Your new companyYou'll be working for a key government organisation, headquartered in Wellington, who take great pride in the support and retention of their workforce and work in cohesion to safeguard the wellbeing of New Zealanders.Your new roleIn summary, this position combines financial expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration to drive effective decision-making and successful implementation of business initiatives. You will be tasked to:Provide financial leadership in the writing, editing and submission of business casesLead financial advice and reporting for relevant business units, programs, and governance boardsDrive improvements in internal financial and non-financial reporting for specific business units or programmesEvaluate and advise on proposed budget initiatives and new investment proposalsCollaborate with the program and Finance teams to facilitate detailed program planning, budgeting, and consistent reporting processes across the organisationDeliver effective financial training and support to program participants to align their financial capability with program needsWhat you'll need to succeedYou will be a Chartered Accountant (CAANZ or equivalent) with 5 years of post-qualification experience. You'll have a strong understanding of programme planning, budgetary processes, reporting, and governance and also experience in contributing to strategic decisions and formulating business decisions. You'll have strong analytical, strategic, and planning skills, along with commercial acumen (ideally within a construction/ infrastructure related field and on large-scale programs/projects).
