Senior Programme Advisor, (Fixed Term) at Department of Conservation, Wellington Deliver and implement an electronic data capture solution for our Wild Animal Management Monitoring Programme, deliver national monitoring programmes through effective planning and implementation of programme schedules.
$92,450.00 - $116,985.00 pro-rata, flexible working options.
12 month fixed term, Wellington or Christchurch location.

Are you a data and project management professional, passionate about driving impactful national monitoring programs and keen to make a difference for Aotearoa's conservation?
As Senior Programme Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Monitoring and Information Systems Manager and Programme Leads, ensuring the seamless planning and implementation of our initiatives.
Your expertise will be crucial in shaping programs that make a difference.
The position will be focused on: Develop and implement the electronic data capture solution for our Wild Animal Management Monitoring Programme.
Lead the development and scheduling of strategic work plans for existing and new programs in collaboration with Programme Leads.
Establish and embed robust business processes to enhance collaboration among cross-functional teams.
Monitor, assess, and report on program progress, ensuring alignment with financial and non-financial objectives.
Organize and coordinate program communications, including high-level presentations, reports, and ministerial briefs.
Facilitate strategic program meetings and workshops, overseeing logistics and stakeholder engagement.
If you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you: Proven end-to-end project and programme management knowledge and experience, ideally relating to data capture and flow.
Competent at financial planning, budget management and finding better ways to use resources.
Familiarity with Visio and MS Project would be an advantage.
Strong customer engagement skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of people.
Well-developed business writing skills; able to write clearly, concisely and explain complex information in simple and clear language.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, able to tailor material to meet audience needs.
A positive track record of working to tight deadlines and excellent attention to detail.
Able to thrive in a dynamic and complex environment.
Ability to see opportunities for improvement and act on these opportunities.
Background in conservation or familiarity with monitoring and evaluation lifecycles.
Mo te tima | About the team The Monitoring and Insights Directorate focuses on developing system-wide intervention logic to describe how DOC achieves its outcomes; to not only deliver conservation, but also to tell the story of what was achieved with supporting evidence.
The Monitoring Design and Advice Team look after the design and implementation of monitoring programmes across Bio H&V, allowing us to report and provide insights on the effectiveness of our biodiversity management actions.

The salary range for this position is $92,450.00 - $116,985.00 pro-rata with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
