The role/Te mahi
As a Senior Professional Practice Fellow in our Department, your primary focus will be on teaching students in years 4 to 6 of the MBChB degree programme. These years are also known as the Advanced Learning in Medicine (ALM) programme.
Students come to GPRH to learn medicine in a primary care context, which includes clinical placements with GPs.
In time there may also be an opportunity to contribute to postgraduate teaching and/or to teach students in years 2 and 3 of the course – the Early Learning in Medicine (ELM) programme. Deployment in these areas would occur if this were workable within the overall teaching allocations of the department.
Some key tasks of this role include:
Delivering tutorials and other teaching events that are already embedded in the GPRH ALM curricula.
Developing new tutorial content, in collaboration with existing members of the ALM teaching team.
Participating in the assessment of students.
Carrying out administration responsibilities related to the teaching programme.
Contributing to the Department's academic goals by applying and sharing expert knowledge.

Evidence of an ability to work well with people from differing academic and cultural backgrounds.
