The Faculty of Dentistry comprises of three Departments (Oral Rehabilitation, Oral Diagnostic and Surgical and Oral Sciences) as well as the Sir John Walsh Research Institute.

The role/Te mahi The University is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Senior Professional Practice Fellows in Dentistry. 
As a Senior Professional Practice Fellow, you will help support teaching, facilitate learning, assist with assessments, and carry out clinical service/clinical activity both on undergraduate clinics and staff clinics out-with term time.
Some key tasks of the role include:
• Clinical teaching/tutoring of undergraduate dentists.
• Contributing to the Department's academic goals by applying expert clinical knowledge in your area of specialty.
• Preparation, assessment, teaching and paper administration duties.
• Following through patient care and referrals within the hospital 
Successful applicants:
• Must hold a dental degree and have registration or be eligible for full registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand. 
• Will demonstrate the ability to work well with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds and at all levels within the institution.
• Show a commitment to uphold the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the University's Maori Strategic Framework. 
Candidates will also have and maintain registration (if supervised) including:
• A practicing certificate in place before starting work.
• Indemnity in place prior to starting work.
We have eight job openings, offering both permanent and fixed-term positions, located in Dunedin. 
We have opportunities for Dentists with special interests in Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontics.
Both full-time (1 FTE) and part-time positions are available, allowing for employment over the full year or semester time only. The duration of any fixed-term positions can be negotiable with the successful candidates. International candidates would need to be available to work minimum 0.8FTE.
The salary range for these positions is $102,270 to $172,693 per annum (pro rata). Candidates will be appointed to a step on the Senior Professional Practice Fellow scale 3 or 4, dependent on qualifications and skills.
