Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tu Ake is an Aotearoa (NZ) Crown entity that invests in natural disaster research and education as well as providing natural disaster insurance to residential property owners. The mission of NHC Toka Tu Ake is to reduce the impact on people and property when a natural disaster occurs while administering the natural disaster fund.

We're on a journey to grow our product team and are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Owner to join us and make a difference.
You'll be able to constantly deliver results by translating strategy into action. You focus on getting things done, with and through others - knowing which key decisions you need to make, where to influence, when to collaborate, and when to delegate.
Have a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic vision and leadership abilities to develop and execute the product roadmap.
Be accountable for multiple product streams; bridging the gap between technology and the business.
Work collaboratively with cross functional teams and third-party suppliers to optimise the value of our strategic investments.
Your confident and engaging manner and excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to quickly build effective working relationships across all levels. You will be a credible and trusted person who is actively sought out for their advice, influence, and collaborative approach to health, safety, security, and wellbeing business performance.
Ko wai koe | About You
Preferably a tertiary qualification related to management or information systems.
7+ year experience in product ownership/management or a similar role within large and complex organisations.
Proven track record in end-to-end product lifecycle management for enterprise systems, including roadmap development, discovery, requirements gathering and documentation, backlog prioritisation, delivery and continuous improvement.
Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in managing commercial relationships and negotiations with strategic partners and suppliers.
Experience in managing project delivery in waterfall and Agile methodologies for IT infrastructure or software development.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Outcome focus with the flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and ambiguity.
Experience with coaching and mentoring is desirable.
A good understanding of accounting concepts and practices, with experience in cloud-based FMIS is a plus.
