Combining the two successfully requires teamwork, empathy and a willingness to listen and understand other people's points of view.Starboard's team is building powerful, unique and intuitive maritime domain awareness software that our customers use every day to tackle challenges including climate security, environment and resource security, maritime asset and infrastructure security and monitoring and transnational crime.Position PurposeThe Senior Product Marketer (Commercial Sector) will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that resonate with our commercial customers.
This role involves creating compelling product narratives, positioning our SaaS solutions to meet the needs of businesses, and driving demand through targeted marketing campaigns.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in B2B SaaS product marketing, a deep understanding of the commercial sector, and the ability to translate technical features into customer-focused value propositions.Key ResponsibilitiesGo-to-Market Strategy for Commercial Sector:Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for Starboard targeting commercial enterprises across various industries.Conduct market research to understand the specific needs, challenges, and opportunities within the commercial sectors, using insights to shape product positioning and messaging.Define and articulate the value proposition for commercial customers, emphasizing how Starboard's solutions drive business success, efficiency, and growth.Messaging and Positioning:Create clear, compelling messaging that highlights the benefits of Starboard for commercial businesses, ensuring it resonates with key decision-makers and end-users.Collaborate with the product management team to ensure that new features and product enhancements are effectively communicated to the market.Develop sector-specific marketing content that speaks directly to the priorities and pain points of commercial customers, including white papers, case studies, and presentations.Content Development and Campaigns:Lead the creation and execution of targeted marketing campaigns that drive awareness, lead generation, and customer acquisition within the commercial sector.Work closely with the sales team to develop sales enablement materials, including product demos, pitch decks, and competitive analysis, that support the sales process.Manage the development of content for multiple channels, including digital marketing, social media, email campaigns, and webinars, ensuring consistency and alignment with overall messaging.Customer and Market Insights:Gather and analyse customer feedback, market trends, and competitive intelligence to inform product development and marketing strategies.Act as the voice of the customer within Starboard, ensuring that the needs and challenges of commercial customers are reflected in product roadmaps and marketing initiatives.Monitor industry trends and developments that may impact the market demand for Starboard.Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and customer success, to ensure alignment on commercial sector objectives and initiatives.Build and maintain relationships with key industry influencers, partners, and stakeholders to enhance Starboard's reputation and visibility in the commercial market.Represent Starboard at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events to promote our solutions and network with potential customers.Role Requirements and CompetenciesProven experience as a Senior Product Marketer or similar role, with a focus on the commercial sector within a global B2B SaaS or technology company.Strong understanding of B2B SaaS markets, with experience in creating and executing go-to-market strategies for commercial customers.Excellent ability to translate complex technical features into clear, customer-focused value propositions that resonate with commercial audiences.Experience in developing and managing marketing campaigns that drive demand and support sales efforts.Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and content that drives engagement and sales.Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret market data, customer insights, and competitive intelligence.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.How to applyPlease submit your CV and a cover letter via Seek, stating your motivation for this position.
