Mo tenei turanga | About this role
The Senior Procurement Specialist Digital Procurement is responsible for managing portfolios (category management), shaping and leading complex procurements (end-to-end), including communicating, understanding and providing advice about the procurement strategy, developing documentation, managing the process through to the award of contracts and management of smaller contracts/specialist areas. It supports the effective use of sourcing strategies for resources, goods and services to ensure best public value outcomes are obtained.
Ensure contracts are developed that include commercial terms that reflect smart, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-based (SMART goals) and key performance indicators that deliver agreed sustainable broader outcomes.
Provide advice to the business ensuring the provider is engaged in the Ministry's Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework and their performance is monitored and regularly reviewed in collaboration with procurement commercial manager(s), business units, and or programme directors and project managers.
Consult with and advise our wider procurement whanau to ensure new initiatives with digital components are in line with the wider Matihiko (Digital) strategy.
Review business technology problem statements and or technology feature requirements and feed into and own the commercial case(s) during business case planning development and business case delivery.
The role reports to the Team Manager Digital Procurement.
Salary range: $96,598 - $117,175 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

Mohou ake | About you
To be effective in the role, you will have developed digital procurement experience, commercial experience, excellent relationship management skills, experience working in complex procurement activities, be customer focused, and comfortable advising on and delivering multiple procurement activities.
You will also offer:
4-6+ years procurement experience with a strong understanding of each stage of the procurement process and Government Procurement Rules including digital secondary procurement and primary procurement constructs.
At least 3 years' experience working with or in a digital technology commercial environment.
Significant relationship building experience including the ability to provide specialist advice, influence and consult with a broad range of stakeholders in the public and private sectors to achieve sustainable broader outcomes that promote digital inclusion, digital equity and follow government and the Ministry policies for digital products and services.
Well-developed commercial/contract negotiation experience including experience in managing high value and or politically sensitive negotiations.

Digital Procurement is responsible for leading the procurement function for Information Communication & Technology (ICT). We ensure delivery of excellent digital procurement support focused on improving quality of outcomes for Education, delivering innovative solutions, while being customer-oriented and value-for-money driven.
Our support ranges beyond the education sector, including the Ministry and other education sector agencies. We deliver 'centre-led' procurement services, driving commercial and broader outcomes to enable Ministry services and the digital learning environments for Kaiako, akonga and their whanau.
