The Role: Have you mastered the Hydropower engineering discipline and looking to broaden your scope?
This Senior Hydro Engineer role is the specialist in all-things hydropower.
MB Century sees this person as a well-seasoned mechanical engineer, with technical leadership skills and site-based experience, looking to impact New Zealand's energy sector.
Reporting to the Professional Services Manager, you'll primarily be responsible for: Leading design and engineering work for the hydro power sector Being the technical advisor for hydro refurbishment projects and supporting tendering activities Shaping the hydropower engineering service strategy Elevating MB Century's engineering capability by mentoring and developing the next generation of engineers Actively network with new and existing contacts to support business growth opportunities About You: With substantial experience in hydropower engineering including maintenance, refurbishment and rehabilitation projects, you'll have a proven track record with the design of hydropower and ancillary equipment.
As a Senior Engineer you'll ideally offer NZ CPEng registration or a Washington Accord Mechanical Engineering degree.
This role is primarily office based at our Wairakei location, but you will also enjoy getting out to interact with clients and field teams on site.
In addition, you'll bring: High level investigative and technical negotiating skills Strong technical leadership and decision making in a complex engineering environment Passionate about Hydropower and motivated to share your knowledge Effective interpersonal skills with experience working across multi-disciplinary teams Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client partnerships and industry connections (local and international) Confident to leverage your network to identify and develop future business growth opportunities Sound financial and commercial understanding Now's a good time to get on board – the industry is booming and we're at the heart of the future with a strong pipeline of work.

Applicants must be eligible to work in NZ and either live in Taupo or be willing to relocate.

This role will be based in our Taupo headquarters where our people work 40-hour weeks, starting at 7.30am and finishing at 4pm, Monday to Friday.
The salary range for this role is NZD$135,000 – 170,000 plus billable overtime.
