The Health of Disabled People Policy team has a permanent, fulltime vacancy in its Wellington office. Part of the Ministry's Strategy, Policy, and Legislation Directorate, the team leads and advises on disability policy to improve health outcomes for disabled people.
With an ambitious new work programme focused on key systemic shifts, the role involves leading programmes of work; providing evidence-based advice; contributing to the team; and influencing other Ministry work programmes. This role has a salary midpoint of $119,209. Appointments will be based on individual experience.
Ko pukenga - What you'll bring
Tertiary qualification in a health or relevant field and/or equivalent experience
A passion for tackling complex policy problems in collaborative environments
Analytical and enquiring mindset, with a willingness to ask probing questions to understand the underlying information
Well-developed policy writing, communication and interpersonal skills
A thorough understanding of public policy and the machinery of government, with a demonstrated knowledge of political administrative processes and structures.
