New Zealand Kiwifruit Growers Incorporated About NZKGINZKGI was established to advocate for the commercial and political interests of New Zealand kiwifruit growers and works on the industry's behalf to lobby change in policy, whilst retaining and building industry, stakeholder, local and central government relationships.Purpose of the RoleThe Senior Policy Analyst has responsibility for NZKGI's Environment and Policy portfolio. This is an exciting role for a experienced Senior Policy Analyst wanting to make a significant difference to the New Zealand Kiwifruit Industry and Growers.Key Accountabilities• Lead the development and delivery of high-quality policy within a complex and challenging policy space.• Lead the policy response in designated areas, likely to be environment and labour related policy.• Actively engage with grower representatives on the Environment and Policy portfolio• Establish and maintain relationships with central and local government and industry partners• Provide presentations to growers as required on policy related matters• Provide support to the CE in policy matters• Work closely with with Horticulture New Zealand and Zespri to ensure kiwifruit growers needs are well understood and reflected in policy responses. • Preparation of articles for industry publications and in response to grower queriesCompetencies and Skills RequiredTechnical• Substantial policy experience (minimum 5 years in a policy role)• Highly developed communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and styles, both written and verbal• Provide high quality, objective analysis and advice within specified timeframes• Excellent understanding of the mechanics of government policy and legislation• Exceptional team player with a strong ability to contribute to positively to the team environment.• Excellent organisation and time management skillsThe ideal candidate requirements: You will have compelling persuasion and influencing skills, with the ability to make a strong personal impression on others, navigate relational tensions and gain clear commitment.
