Senior Policy Analyst - 6 Month Fixed TermOur client is looking for an experienced Senior Policy Analyst to provide high-quality analysis and advice on complex social policy issues.
This role offers the chance to represent the Ministry on inter-agency working groups, build strong networks within the social sector, and contribute to transformative outcomes for New Zealanders.
What you'll do: Lead complex policy projects, including defining the issues, managing, and conducting in-depth analysisLead or contribute to cross-sector work, articulating the Ministry's position and strategy with clarity and influenceAnticipate the needs of Ministers and Senior Officials, delivering high-quality policy products within tight timeframesDemonstrate flexibility across the wider branch work programme, in consultation with your Manager, to meet Ministry prioritiesBuild team capability by peer reviewing policy work and mentoring policy analysts, enhancing their skills, knowledge, and professional developmentWhat you bring: Understanding of Cabinet and Parliamentary processes relevant to policy-makingAbility to monitor and assess policies in alignment with government prioritiesExpertise in using a range of analytical frameworks to identify practical, fit-for-purpose optionsProven experience in building collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholdersStrong understanding of policy implementation and the issues that may impact service deliveryWhat's next: Ready to make a meaningful difference?
