The Role Join a hardworking, dedicated and fun team of Policy analysts who strive to deliver for the community. Your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining a comprehensive framework of strategies and policies, leading strategy development projects, and advising on legislative changes affecting the district. You will also oversee the implementation of a monitoring program to ensure policy relevance and compliance. Other duties include: Lead and facilitate workshops, with the ability to deliver a diverse range of topics to stakeholders. Provide trusty advice around proposed legislating changes that may affect the council and their objectives. Lead the development and implementation of strategies, policies and plans that set the direction for decision-making across the council. Mentor and coach those within your team to foster growth within the team. About You As a Senior Policy Advisor, your expertise will shape strategic decision-making and drive impactful policy development. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the public policy environment, ready to provide evidence-based advice to our leadership and foster strong stakeholder relationships. An expert in all things public policy with an understanding of the RMA. Relevant tertiary education. Strategic and analytic thinking. Be an easy-going person with great communication skills and ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
