About the Role
Are you an experienced water engineer and interested in leading the planning of New Plymouth's long-term water supply infrastructure?
Bring your technical knowledge and critical thinking to this key position in our Three Waters Planning team. From ensuring our current water supply assets remain fit for purpose, to improving infrastructure resilience and providing for sustainable growth, there is plenty of challenge in this role!
Provide expert input to development applications, structure plans for growth areas, asset management plans, and the long-term plan.
Work closely with internal teams and communities and iwi to identify water infrastructure investment priorities, and to develop business cases for infrastructure funding.
Lead project teams to deliver infrastructure planning projects eg, network models, master plans, obtaining significant resource consents.
Act as translator between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills & Experience
Degree qualification in engineering or science.
Considerable experience in the water and wastewater industry, including consultancy or council experience.
A good understanding of water supply at a whole system level - able to ask the right questions!
Have a knack for communicating technical concepts in plain English.
Able to lead technical delivery and manage project teams and consultants.
Understanding and experience working with local regulations and standards.
