Government - Local (Government & Defence) Lead the Planning Team in administering the local government's responsibilities ensuring efficient delivery of resource management planning functions. Take a proactive approach in reviewing and implementing the District Plan, ensuring alignment with community needs and environmental sustainability goals. Provide strategic input to the wider organization from a resource management and planning perspective, contributing to decision-making processes and long-term planning initiatives. Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced members of the Planning Team, fostering their professional development and ensuring consistent quality of work. Facilitate stakeholder engagement with external partners including residents, community groups, government agencies, and professional bodies, fostering positive relationships and ensuring community input in planning processes. Skills and Experience: Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in planning/resource management or equivalent. 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a local government setting. Strong understanding of relevant legislation. Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and community consultation. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex planning concepts to diverse audiences. Benefits: Competitive salary package.
