Key responsibilities include supporting the District Plan Review, developing strategic policies, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. You'll manage projects, prepare planning documents, and provide expert advice at hearings. Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, you'll enhance operational efficiency and contribute to the community's future with well-researched policies. Your expertise will maintain the District Plan's integrity, benefiting both the Council and the community.He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bringThe preferred candidate will have:Relevant Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 5 years in planning or policy development, with a tertiary qualification in resource management or a related discipline, and NZ Planning Institute Membership.Legislative Knowledge and Strategic Thinking: Strong understanding of the Resource Management Act 1991 and experience with policy and plan development processes, capable of developing robust solutions for local and national challenges.Communication and Leadership Skills: Proven ability in report writing, verbal presentation, and facilitating workshops, with experience leading projects and collaborating within teams to achieve District Plan objectives.Contract Management and Compliance: Expertise in managing third-party consultancy services and external supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and upholding high standards.Mo tatou | About usWaitaki District Council (WDC) is a dynamic and progressive local government organisation dedicated to serving the residents and communities of the Waitaki District.
