As a successful Senior Pharmacist in the Quality and Safe Use of Medicines (QSUM) team, you will play a key role in developing our service approach to medicine safety. You will also be involved with a range of QSUM team activities, projects and medicine management support. These may include medication safety software, guidelines or other initiatives across the organisation. There is also opportunity to use or develop your interest in informatics and information technology in supporting our service to respond to pharmaceutical use analysis and audit requests; explore how data can be used to improve the rational and safe use of medicines.

Key responsibilities of the role:

Lead relevant projects and be a key pharmacy representative
Coordinate and/or provide support for QSUM team activities and services
Incorporate data utilisation into the medicines safety and information service
Further develop relationships with pharmacists and other health professionals locally and nationally
Teaching and advising other health professionals
Potential involvement in e-medicine management work

Providing pharmacy services to Waikato hospital, rural hospitals and tertiary advisory and support services to the Te Manawa Taki region, the Pharmacy Service is key to the effective operation of the district health service. From pharmaceutical supply, medicines safety and clinical services to provision of an outpatient pharmacy, comprehensive clinical trials service and a compounding suite, the pharmacy does it all. Pharmacy services that are consistently of a high standard are important to our team.
Mou | About you
Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role:

Registration with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.
A current annual practising certificate with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand.
At least 5 years previous experience in a hospital pharmacy or at least 3 years if coupled with relevant other pharmacy experience.
Previous experience with development and support of medicines safety initiatives desirable.
Post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy advantageous.
