We areexcited to offer anawesomeopportunity for a Senior People & Culture Partner to join our dynamic People and Culture team in Christchurch.
About the Role As a Senior People & Culture Partner, reporting to the Head of People & Culture based in Newmarket, you will collaborate with various departments to create a high-performing, safe, happy, and healthy workplace for all employees.
You will work closely with the site senior leadership team, fostering strong and credible relationships while managing a team of direct reports.
Your role encompasses providing operational and strategic advice and solutions across the entire People & Culture spectrum.
Responsibilities include developing, designing, delivering, and implementing a variety of initiatives and projects.
This involves close collaboration withLearning and Capability, Talent Acquisitionand the broader People & Culture team to ensure a positive and engaging experience for employees.
Additionally, you will play a key role in meeting legislative requirements and upholding Tegel's standards.
A Day in the Life of Our Senior People & Culture Partner Partner with the Business: Build strong relationships with the site SLT and Site Manager, gaining a deep understanding of individual roles, commercial objectives, and people-related opportunities.
Strategic and Operational Planning: Co-design strategic People & Culture plans and operationalize them to fit site needs, ensuring effective delivery in the workplace.
Leadership: Lead a team of P&C professionals to deliver programs of work as per the P&C roadmap and strategy.
Implementation of Initiatives: Oversee the implementation of all cyclical people and strategic initiatives for the site.
SLT Meetings: Attend site SLT meetings, providing best practice HR support, solutions, advice, and people updates.
IR Strategy: Lead, co-design, and manage the IR strategy for the site, including leading collective bargaining processes.
P&C Partnering Model: Embed the P&C partnering model by working with our P&C Centers of Expertise to support Talent Acquisition and Learning & Capability needs.
What You Will Bring to the Role Qualifications and Experience: Relevant tertiary training with a minimum of 5 years of senior generalist and leadership experience in HR roles.
Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and influence effectively.
Team Leadership: Proven ability to engage, develop, and lead a team of direct reports to deliver programs of work on time.
Strategic and Operational Balance: Ability to balance strategic and operational needs and thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Commercial Acumen: Well-developed commercial acumen with a growth and development mindset.
HR Expertise: Strong generalist knowledge operating at a senior level across the full HR spectrum, including managing complex ER and IR issues and leading collective bargaining processes.
Project Leadership: Experience in leading projects and successfully implementing new initiatives.
Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
Time Management: Exemplary time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize critical tasks.
