Do you want to help change the world? Learn more about the role: We are looking for a Senior PCB Design Engineer to help our microinverter team bring the future generations of microinverters to life by delivering cost-effective, easy-to-manufacture, and compliant designs.
This role is integrated into our development team and works with Hardware, Mechanical, and Manufacturing disciplines to deliver world-class designs that will deliver clean reliable energy across the world. In the role you will:
Design PCBs per the specs provided by Technical Team. Design and own quality PCB layouts from schematic import to production artifact release. Create PCB layouts from scratch as well as updating and modifying existing designs. Design to meet IEC standards of EMC / EMI, Surge, EFT, Safety, and Reliability. Maintain and update PCB Design Documents. Participate in Design Reviews, PCB inspection, and testing. Contribute to defining design criteria for new and emerging technologies. Verify existing designs and recommend PCB- and manufacturing-related improvements. Propose process improvements to ensure PCB functionality, quality, and reliability. Perform updates according to changes in customer or internal requirements. Identify technical risks and challenges and propose action plans. Investigate new technologies and how they can impact future design. Mentor other PCB designers and Engineers on good design practices. Define PCB stack-ups tailored for relevant applications. Required Skills and Experience: 5+ years PCB design experience. Familiar with Cadence Allegro and Orcad packages. Fluent in at least one design tool environment (Allegro, Altium, etc.). IPC Designer Certification CID & CID+ (or equivalent) preferred. Experience designing high power boards (4-6 layers). Understanding of PCB layout on EMI performance. Knowledge about manufacturing limitations and design for low cost and high-volume design. Design with Constraint Manager. Complex and high-speed boards with high layer count. Power and Signal Integrity analysis. DFM, DFA, DFT. Thermal analysis. ISO Quality process knowledge. ECAD to MCAD interface transfer. Knowledge of PCB fabrication process and Assembly. SVN, PLM / Arena / Product Data Management (PDM) Tools based release and change order process and PCB lifecycle Processes.
