We are looking for our next Senior Payroll Officer (Internally referred to as Senior Payroll Analyst) to join our Payroll Team, reporting to our Payroll Operations Lead. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Auckland with the ability to work flexibly from home.
You will be responsible for our New Zealand business's payroll with a strong focus on compliance and governance. You will work closely with various Finance and People & Culture stakeholders across a range of payroll activities, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your soft skills and technical knowledge.
A day in the life

End-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles
Troubleshoot system issues, share solutions and provide coaching to assist the wider team
Calculate and process terminations, redundancies and leave reconciliations
Lead initiatives for year-end activities and ensure all legislative changes are addressed
Drive annual review process and enterprise agreement increases
Deliver payroll obligations such as IRD, KiwiSaver, AMP Super and third-party payments
Ensure awards, agreements and policies are interpreted correctly and reflected in our payroll system and processes
Investigate and action ServiceNow requests within agreed timeframes
Collaborate with the People Operations, Data and Systems teams
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and help implement them.

What you'll bring

Strong communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
A challenger mindset, always on the lookout for ways to improve processes
A strong understanding of NZ payroll-related legislation is crucial
5-10 years' payroll processing experience in a large corporate environment
Knowledge of SAP ECP would be an advantage.
