We are looking for our next Senior Payroll Officer (Internally referred to as Senior Payroll Analyst) to join our Payroll Team, reporting to our Payroll Operations Lead. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Auckland with the ability to work flexibly from home.
You will be responsible for our New Zealand business's payroll with a strong focus on compliance and governance. You will work closely with various Finance and People & Culture stakeholders across a range of payroll activities, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your soft skills and technical knowledge.
A day in the life End-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll cyclesTroubleshoot system issues, share solutions and provide coaching to assist wider teamCalculate and process terminations, redundancies and leave reconciliationsLead initiatives for year-end activities and ensure all legislative changes are addressedDrive annual review process and enterprise agreement increasesDeliver payroll obligations such as IRD, KiwiSaver, AMP Super and third party paymentsEnsure awards, agreements and policies are interpreted correctly and reflected in our payroll system and processesInvestigate and action ServiceNow requests within agreed timeframesCollaborate with the People Operations, Data and Systems teamsIdentify continuous improvement opportunities and help implement them.What you'll bring Excellent attention to detailA challenger mindset, always on the lookout for ways to improve processesA strong understanding of NZ payroll-related legislation is crucial5-10 years' payroll processing experience in a large corporate environmentKnowledge of SAP ECP would be an advantage.At Lion, we offer 'growth on tap' and you'll get hooked on reaching higher with each new challenge.
