Senior Packaging Technologist

Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Packaging Development Manager, we are seeking a skilled Packaging Technologist to join our R&D team. This is a newly created position to help support our organisation during a time of growth. This role is pivotal in driving the development and optimisation of packaging solutions for our diverse and growing product portfolio.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our packaging meets aesthetic, functional, and sustainability standards while adhering to industry regulations. It's a blue-sky, innovative environment that is fast paced, with no two days being the same.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and test new packaging solutions for existing and new products.
Participate in factory trials at our manufacturing plants and Co-Manufacturing partners and evaluate results to ensure the packaging design is fit for purpose.
Maintain packaging information and specifications.
Provide support and troubleshoot issues within manufacturing plants related to packaging.

The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor's or related degree in Packaging Technology, Engineering, Material Science or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in packaging development, preferably in the FMCG industry.
Knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of sustainability practices and regulatory requirements in packaging.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

We would love to hear if you have a love for food, are action oriented and have worked with a variety of substrates including laminates, HDPE, glass and aluminum meaning you understand the impact of materials changes on machinery.
