Driven by a strong sense of purpose, we are working to improve patient care and outcomes through inspired and world-leading healthcare solutions.At Fisher & Paykel Healthcare's Highbrook campus, we use thermoplastic and silicone injection moulding as well as extrusion technologies to manufacture our world-leading healthcare products.About the RoleOur Internal Plastics Operations Engineers work closely with Product and Process Development Engineers, Quality Engineers, Maintenance, Production Staff and Vendors, and are continuously looking for opportunities to improve quality and processes on production lines. You'll be primarily involved in supporting our injection moulding and extrusion processes, with a focus on troubleshooting, process characterization and validation, process continuous improvement and project implementation. As a senior team member, you will also support the ongoing development of our cohort of less experienced engineers and technical team members.Experience RequiredIdeally, you have a background in plastics processing technologies with extensive experience in all aspects of moulding, including machine, materials, process and tooling. You will have a continuous improvement mindset and will also enjoy mentoring junior engineers and technical team members. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, utilizing a methodical approach. Ideally, you will have come from a highly regulated industry, where you have had to meet strict quality requirements.You will have:A degree in Mechanical/Chemical or Materials Engineering or Polymer/Materials Science or a tertiary qualification in Plastics Engineering or Tool-Making.8+ years' experience in a plastics processing environment - ideally with a focus on thermoplastic and/or thermoset moulding.Good practical knowledge and experience working with Moulding Machines, Processes, Tooling and Polymer Materials.Good exposure in TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma knowledge and experience working with a QMS and comfortable with design controls will be an advantage.Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is a world leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of medical devices, exporting to over 120 countries globally.
