Senior Occupational Therapist
Company:

St John Of God Hauora Trust

Details of the offer

Description: Hi, I'm Jack the rehab manager at The Granada Centre at St John of God Halswell. We provide transitional rehab for people with neuro conditions like stroke, spinal injury and Traumatic Brain Injuries and also deliver an Allied Health service for our long-term residents at St John of God Halswell. In addition, we run a neuro outpatient clinic for community groups and support our clients in the community as they transition back to independent living. Our residents tend to be referred to us because they have complex conditions and circumstances, and they are definitely challenging but also super rewarding to work with. For me, this is the best thing about working at the Granada Centre. We have strong values as an organisation and a rehab approach that aims to give residents real control over their rehab journey and genuine choices in what goals they prioritise to work towards. The team here includes Physiotherapists, Speech Language therapists, a Social Worker, and a Therapy assistant. We tend to blur the boundaries between disciplines, and we try really hard to provide an enriched environment for our residents, where they can work on reclaiming their old roles in life as well as discovering new ones. In this residential environment, we focus on community participation with our residents as well as working towards functional gains. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and flexible with a sense of humour and good problem-solving skills who can fit into our small, highly collaborative team. Ideally, you would have neuro experience, but to be honest, having the right values and attitude are a priority for us. Desired Skills And Experience: New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist with a current practicing certificate. NZ Work Visa or Permanent residency if you are not a New Zealand Citizen. Enthusiasm and flexibility. Problem solver and strong team player. Experience in supervising Occupational Therapy students. A sense of humour and drive to enhance the quality of life and opportunity for our clients and their families. A clean and current driving license. Our family ethos creates a supportive environment based on our strong core Values. Diversity Statement: At St John of God Hauora Trust, we employ and are privileged to work with people from a range of cultures, beliefs, abilities, genders, and sexual identities. Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. Applications close 5pm, 16 September 2024. If you have any queries regarding this role or would like a copy of the Position Description, please email ******. Please note if you click Apply or use the Apply with Seek option, you will be redirected through to St John of God Hauora Trust's HR System called Elmo Talent Management Software. #J-18808-Ljbffr
