Contribute to the ongoing health care and support of refugeesBe part of a small and collaborative teamUtilise your extensive clinical skills and knowledgeFull time | Permanent role based in Mangere, AucklandSalary range $75,114 - $88,266The Refugee Health Liaison team is looking for a Senior Nurse Specialist to work as part of a small supportive team to provide the continuum of health screening and care for refugees from offshore through to the community they will make home.
The Senior Refugee Nurse Specialist will bring their extensive clinical skills and knowledge to gather health information from the offshore panel physician to gain a comprehensive understanding of the health needs of Quota refugees prior to their arrival in New Zealand.
They will also be involved in helping determine any offshore treatment necessary prior to arrival as well as the immediate and ongoing needs to be supported either on arrival or in the community.
You will participate as an active team member and contribute knowledge and expertise within our supportive and collaborative team.
Skills and Experience Required Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in New ZealandExpert knowledge of the health sector and clinical practices within New ZealandExperience in specific health related fields such as refugee health, primary care and public health would be advantageousUnderstanding of clinical practices and the refugee health situation within New ZealandExcellent time management skills and the ability to quickly adapt and become proficient with IT systems and spreadsheetsStrong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across multiple networks and groupsDemonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgroundsAbility to think and act quickly and independently, with proven effective problem solving skillsAbility to work as a part of a supportive team with partners offshore, the team at the Mangere Resettlement Centre, settlement services including health in the community.To be eligible for this role you must be either a New Zealand Citizen or hold a Permanent Resident Visa.
