Senior Medical Officer - Orl (Head And Neck)

Details of the offer

Senior Medical Officer - ORL (Head and Neck) at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Counties Manukau, AucklandFlexibility Fantastic training opportunity! Counties Manukau invites applications for an Otorhinolaryngologist Head and Neck Surgeon to join our department.
For a health career packed with benefits, you won't find a better opportunity. We cover the southern region of Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, and look after more than 10% of the country's population.
We're unique in terms of the diverse population including Maaori, Pacific, and Asian ethnicities.
This position is full-time (1 FTE).
Our department is based at the Manukau Super Clinic & Surgery Centre and provides outpatient, day stay surgery, and inpatient services to our diverse population.
Our Otolaryngology department has excellent facilities and equipment. The service delivers a broad range of secondary care. You will be based in our Clinic in New Zealand's leading ambulatory facility, Manukau Health Park (MHP). From time to time, there may be sessions required to be undertaken at other Metro Auckland district facilities (e.g., Northshore and Auckland City Hospitals) as we work towards a more regional approach. We are also in the process of expanding our outpatient services to 6 days per week (Saturdays), but weekend work is entirely voluntary and fee-for-service.
This role is required for meeting the needs of Counties Manukau patients, particularly those with head and neck and thyroid conditions. There is also a need to provide continuity of care and support to the existing ORL Head and Neck sub-specialty as this service is in the process of developing a surgical programme for more complex surgery, including combined surgery sessions with Plastic Surgery. There will be the opportunity to participate in the local and regional Multidisciplinary Meetings for Head & Neck services.
Candidates must have vocational registration with the Medical Council of NZ.
For further information, please contact Richard Small, General Manager, at ******.

To help us achieve this, we need a workforce that reflects the population we serve. We strongly encourage applications from all backgrounds who share our values and have a passion to work in our community and would greatly value seeing applicants from our Maaori and Pacific communities.
