Senior Medical Officer - Maternal Mental Health, Te Whatu Ora

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Maternal Mental Health Perinatal Team working in the vibrant and culturally diverse community of South Auckland.

This role is primarily focused on assessment and treatment of pregnant women, though it has an interface with our Whakatupu Ora Infant Mental Health team, providing assessment and therapy for children (0 to 4 years) and their caregivers to improve mental health outcomes for children.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be engaged in core clinical activities such as treatment planning and the development of recovery-oriented interventions that are culturally relevant to our service users and their whaanau.

You will have a focus on early intervention, experience in working with whanau, and excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with a wide range of services and professionals on intervention plans.
