We offer secondary-level (hospital and specialist) care and a selected range of community and domiciliary services for the population of Counties Manukau - the area that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato.
We also provide niche specialist tertiary services for regional and national consumers in orthopaedic and plastic surgery, burns, spinal injury rehabilitation, renal dialysis, and neonatal intensive care.

The Department of General Medicine: The General Medicine experience at Middlemore is wide and varied providing an interesting and challenging clinical environment.
It is the largest of the 15 Departments in the Division of Medicine and has close ties with all the Medical specialties.
All subspecialties contribute to undergraduate and post-graduate teaching programmes.
Te whiwhinga mahi The Opportunity: We are currently looking for experienced General Medicine Consultants / Physicians (Senior Medical Officers - SMOs) with a passion for General Medicine at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau, based at Middlemore Hospital, in South Auckland, New Zealand.
As a SMO, you will have the opportunity to work with the ward-based teams as well as the Acute Medicine Team.
Nga Pukenga Motuhake Important Skills: As the ideal candidate, you should be either registered or be eligible for vocational registration within the scope of General Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Previous experience as a Consultant Physician is desirable. Please note, you will be required to provide source verification of your qualifications for your registration application.
