Media Strategy, Planning & Buying (Advertising, Arts & Media) As the Senior Media Planner/Buyer, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of clients' paid media investment across all channels.
At Calibre + Candor, our media team is involved across the whole process, from strategy through to post-analysis and works closely with Calibre + Candor's wider client service, creative, and analytics teams to deliver best-in-class solutions for all clients.
The media team is the hub of the client's campaigns, building strong relationships with a wide range of partners.
Our Media Planners are empowered to make their own data-led decisions across all channels, with guidance where appropriate.

Purpose The Senior Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for: Developing media plans that deliver to clients' communication objectives and media strategy.
Implementing media plans in a timely and accurate manner.
Analysing, reporting and presenting results of media activities.
Key Responsibilities Follows and contributes to the Calibre + Candor Media Planning processes.
Works with Client Service and Head of Media Operations to understand communication goals and helps deliver those in a campaign.
Creates detailed media plans based on communications strategies.
Demonstrates sound knowledge of the media market.
Understands the role of all channels.
Has good understanding of how to plan all mediums, including digital.
Engages with specialists within Calibre + Candor to ensure plans are implemented correctly.
Communicates regularly with clients, replying promptly to client emails/phone calls.
Produces documents that follow the Calibre + Candor process for reporting, ensuring use of all agency templates.
Manages the written & verbal presentation of results internally and to clients.
Competent in all assigned tasks.
Develops and maintains relationships with key partners (including media owners, creative teams, and clients).
Provides clear communication and accurate translation of buys to team/media owners for trading, invoicing, tracking, and reporting purposes.
Actively manages workflow, assisting where necessary to get tasks completed within set deadlines.
Attends and provides insightful input into group/team WIPs, agency discussions, and media owner presentations.
Participates and embraces all role-related training forums (within team, internal & external courses).
Focuses on developing planning skills as well as other specific skills required to perform role.
Understands clients' businesses and internal pressures.
Where appropriate adapts service accordingly.
Key Performance Indicators Delivery of media recommendation and plans that align with clients' business objectives and media strategy.
Delivery to agreed Media Plan (customer business objectives).
Media owner relationship strength.
Client satisfaction.
Campaign and budget metrics.
Cost control responsibility.
Person Specifications Qualifications & Training Preference is for a degree in marketing, advertising, or communications.
Experience (Technical & Behavioural) Minimum of four years' experience, performing media planner/buyer tasks across all media.
A "can do" attitude and a willingness to contribute to personal and company growth.
Takes pride in their work and demonstrates a high level of care for the C+C and clients' businesses.
Conversant in the world of media and follows latest trends.
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Excellent knowledge of media platforms and tools: CMI, Campaign Manager, Ad Intel.
Creating insightful post-analysis reports for campaigns.
Analytical; able to identify new opportunities through data analysis and insights.
Self-motivated and self-directed with independence to carry out responsibilities as well as take guidance from peers.
Assertive.
Able to take charge of a situation.
Collaborative - Works with clients, colleagues, and business partners to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Organised – the ability to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks and work to a deadline.
Extremely detail-oriented.
Inquisitive by nature.
Work Conditions This is a full-time position based in Parnell, Auckland or CBD, Christchurch.
The working hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday with flexibility.
However, from time to time, work beyond these standard hours may be required to deliver on results areas.
Travel to clients and/or business partners nationally will be required.
