With a strong reputation for excellence, our products and services are trusted by boat builders, naval architects, and a wide variety of end-users in over 120 countries.We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our New Jet Development team.
In this role, your hands-on approach and passion for mechanical innovation will shine.
You'll play a key role in our collaborative engineering team, contributing to cutting-edge solutions for new product development while continuously improving our systems and processes.You will focus on designing new waterjets, from initial concept through to manufacturing.
This includes developing designs for castings, machined components, fabrications, hydraulic systems, and related assemblies.
Your responsibilities will also encompass prototyping, validating designs to ensure performance and reliability, and working closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers during the product introduction phase.To excel in this role, you'll bring:Extensive experience in mechanical design, preferably within capital equipment manufacturing involving rotating machinery such as pumps, turbines, generators, engines, or transmission systems.Strong practical skills and expertise in design for manufacture (DFM), with a proven ability to take designs from prototype to commercialisation.Proficiency in CAD software, ideally with experience in product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.Solid understanding of first principles calculations and analysis to ensure designs are fit for purpose.Experience using computer-aided engineering tools, such as finite element analysis (FEA) would be advantageous.Excellent collaboration, organisational, and communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.Five years minimum professional experience.What We Offer:Opportunities to work on engaging and challenging projects.Professional development and career growth opportunities.A supportive and innovative company culture.Flexible working arrangements.Competitive remuneration.If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
