The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) is seeking a dynamic and seasoned Senior Marketing Advisor to join our dedicated team within Defence Recruiting. In this role, you will play a crucial part in inspiring 18–24-year-olds to explore the exciting and fulfilling career opportunities available within the Defence Force.As the Senior Marketing Advisor, you'll maintain the ongoing relationships with our creative partners and suppliers, manage marketing campaigns and produce excellent communications both internally and externally.A typical day might include:Managing two direct reports (Digital & Social Media Coordinator, and Marketing Projects Coordinator).Utilising your expertise to design and implement innovative marketing campaigns targeted at the 18-24 age group, showcasing the unique benefits and opportunities offered by a career in the Defence Force.Staying abreast of market trends, audience preferences, and competitor activities to continuously refine and improve recruitment strategies.Utilising data-driven insights to measure the success of marketing campaigns and make data-informed decisions for future strategies and reporting tothe Executive Leadership Team.Developing internal communications initiatives to support awareness and understanding by NZDF personnel.Working closely with internal stakeholders, creative teams, and external agencies to ensure cohesive and impactful marketing initiatives.Aiding the wider Defence Recruiting unit to achieve targets and be successful.This role is based in Wellington Central. Once you are established in the role there are flexible working arrangements available, including some work from home options.To really own this role, you'll need to balance soft skills with technical ones. Influencing and negotiating with a wide range of internal stakeholders is a must as at times you'll need to sell an idea or course of action to those who are not marketers.Additionally, you will also possess:Strong communication and interpersonal skills.A creative mind set with the ability to think outside the box.A results driven mentality with a focus on achieving recruitment targets.Great time management.The ability to self-manage and work as part of a team.Familiarity with digital marketing trends and tools.Experience in capturing video content and editing and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is desirable, but not essential.A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.Approximately 5 years of experience in marketing, with a proven track record of successful campaign management.Experience in recruitment marketing or working with youth-oriented campaigns is highly desirable.This role requires occasional domestic travel to NZDF's Camps and Bases (and other locations); a Full Class 1 Driver's Licence is highly desirable for this reason.Nou te rourou | What's in it for youYour skills and dedication deserve recognition, and NZDF delivers with competitive pay matched to your experience.
