We're seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Risk and Compliance Manager to lead the team and drive excellence in 2025!The Senior Risk and Compliance Manager forms part of the 1st line responsibility and supports COO Domain Leadership Team to ensure COO New Zealand maintains and incorporates all aspects of the RANZ Risk Control Framework (RCF) on a day-to-day basis.The role is responsible for leading COO NZ First Line Operational Risk and Compliance Team and the Quality Assurance Team for Operations New Zealand. It aids COO New Zealand with ensuring its risks are being well managed within Risk Appetite through efficient and effective technical skills and leadership while acting within the parameters set by RANZ.The role is a position of influence and responsibility within the 1st line in supporting the adoption of a strong risk culture, and acts as a change agent for risk management within the 1st line of responsibility to provide guidance and an independent view.Key Responsibilities:Assist the Chief Operating Officer New Zealand and COO Leadership Team to adopt a strong risk culture and risk management practices within the 1st line.Work with the Chief Operating Officer to incorporate Rabobank's strategy of being a Rock Solid Bank through the Risk Management Framework and Assurance.Lead the Quality Assurance team.Manage and enhance the divisional strategies for the effective management of Risk and Compliance.Proactively support business decision making and contribute to a solid business approach to Risk Management matters.Coordinate the collation of evidence for all local and global regulatory requests for all lines of business as well as local and global self-assessment reviews as required.Through liaising with Operational Risk and Compliance, ensure that there is a robust and effective 1st line Risk Management Framework that integrates with the Operational Risk Management Framework.We're keen to hear from people who have:Bachelor's Degree or International Equivalent.A minimum of 10+ years related experience in financial services industry with focus on controls, auditing, operational risk or process engineering.An understanding of risk management within the financial services industry and related regulatory standards (Basel II and NZ Regulatory Standards).An understanding of banking and finance operations.A thorough understanding of banking products including retail deposits, managed funds, commercial/rural lending products, and cards.Experience of transactional banking including cards and online channels.A knowledge of causes, influences, and drivers of operational risk.Experience in managing risk and evaluating risk.Clear written and verbal communication skills.Experience managing stakeholders and dealing with senior management and business and commercial teams.If this sounds like you and you are interested in growing a better world together, please follow the link and apply online or visit www.rabobank.co.nz/careers.This role will close Tuesday 7 January 2025.
