This is an exciting opportunity to join the Human Potential Programme Office in BMRC.
Human Potential is a new focus area in the expanded Human Health and Potential (HHP) domain in RIE2025, and is a key programme to address a national priority as Singapore is facing persistently low birth rates, a declining workforce and rapidly ageing population.
Human capital being Singapore's most valuable resource, it is therefore critical to optimise each individual's potential throughout life.The Human Potential Programme Office will focus on supporting the Human Potential Steering Committee; overseeing and managing the Early Life grant calls and grant awards; working with other human potential agencies in the Government and private sectors to coordinate research and intervention studies; and engaging partners and stakeholders in the human potential space.The incumbent will have opportunities to:Design, launch and manage the end-to-end grant call processes including pre-grant call workshops, variation agreements, project reviews and reporting, KPI tracking and audits.Communicate funding schemes and application processes to the research community.Review and assess grant call applications and make recommendations to the Human Potential Steering Committee for approval.Review grant funding policies to ensure benchmarking to international and local best practices.Support the Human Potential Steering Committee as part of the joint secretariat.Organise and support stakeholder engagement sessions and ecosystem-wide events with external partners.Promote the work of A*STAR and its research entities in Early Life Research.Job requirements:Educational background in life sciences, or a related field such as medical research or biotechnology is preferred but not essential.
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply!Experience in a grant management role in a public sector agency would be advantageous.Able to work and communicate with public sector partners effectively, and familiar with the work processes in the public sector.Energetic self-starter, able to take initiative, self-direct and flex between varieties of approaches.Outstanding writing abilities, oral communication and presentation skills.Must be meticulous, careful and willing to learn.
