You will contribute in a meaningful way to the protection of Aotearoa New Zealand from organised crime, modern slavery, extreme right-wing groups, and other activities that place New Zealand at risk.About the Role:We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager in Risk or Compliance to join our Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) team. This is a fixed-term maternity cover opportunity. The FCC team at ASB leads in the protection of our customers and communities from financial crime and supports the business in mitigating the risks of money laundering, terrorism financing, bribery & corruption, and tax evasion.Provide the business with subject matter expertise and advice to support projects and change initiatives, ensuring that policy and regulatory requirements are embedded and that the control environment is robust.Identify key FCC-related risks across ASB and provide quality expertise and advice to key stakeholders.Identify and assess the impact of industry developments, regulatory changes, and policy updates, giving due consideration to the impact on risk and control profiles.Assess key controls across the bank, handle detailed regulatory reporting, and impact-assess complex change initiatives.Implement changes to policies, standards, and draft helpful guidance materials.Support the identification, management, and mitigation of key risks across AML/CFT, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Foreign Tax, and Anti-Tax Evasion.Assess the effectiveness of controls documented within the Risk Management Framework and provide insight and challenge on issues and incidents as they arise.Participate in technical working groups on the application of policy or regulatory requirements and act as delegate for HO where required at such forums.Perform any other initiatives required by the Head of Financial Crime Compliance.Required Qualifications:Strong experience in Compliance, Risk Management, or Audit capacity - preferably in the banking sector.In-depth knowledge of financial crime risks (including Sanctions) and financial crime legislation and regulations.Proven ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organisation.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex technical information to non-subject matter experts.Proven leadership experience with a track record of leading from the front by displaying a positive attitude, high integrity, and empathy towards your team and broader stakeholders.Working for ASB:In return, you will work for an organisation that places huge importance and focus on its people, where the sky is the limit for development and career opportunities.
