Babcock is looking for Senior Maintenance Engineering Technician to join the Maintenance Development team based in Devonport, Auckland on a 12mo fixed-term contract.

About the role
Reporting to the Maintenance Development Manager, the Senior Maintenance Engineering Technician will play a crucial role in our maintenance development team. This position involves conducting technical investigations, creating preventive and corrective maintenance task instructions for mechanical systems, and ensuring the artefacts meet the required product quality standards. You will engage with stakeholders within the maintenance community and provide technical input into various elements of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) maintenance program, all while further developing your experience, knowledge, and skills.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct technical investigations in response to maintenance amendment requests related to mechanical systems and equipment.
Analyse equipment performance and historical data, including past investigations, to inform investigation processes and recommendations.
Create detailed technical reports with clear recommendations, explaining the process, justifying the recommendations made.
Develop maintenance task instructions, including detailed task steps, parts lists, reference publications, safety requirements.
Detail any acceptance criteria, and objective quality evidence (OQE) requirements for task completion acceptance.
Identify and specify the Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) required for each maintenance task.
Engage with relevant stakeholders throughout the investigation process to gather insights, validate findings, and ensure alignment with maintenance objectives.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to support decision-making and problem-solving throughout the investigation process.


About You
You are an experienced professional in maintenance delivery, holding a technical vocational qualification, certificate, or diploma. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, a positive work ethic, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
