Senior Maintenance EngineerLocation: AucklandFull-Time | Permanent Position$45 - $55 /hourOur client is a leading manufacturer and exporter of canned meat, committed to delivering high-quality products to their customers. Their innovative approach, cutting-edge technology, and dedicated team drives their success.As part of their continued growth, our client is seeking skilled and motivated Senior Maintenance Engineers to join the team. This is a permanent, full-time role at 40 hrs/week Monday to Friday, based at their factory in Auckland. Overtime will be paid at an hourly rate. You must be able to work on Saturdays when required.As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will play a critical role in leading the maintenance team to ensure the efficient operation of our factory equipment and systems. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will work closely with key stakeholders, including the Operations Manager, Production Manager, and Supervisors, to maintain and optimize equipment performance.The main responsibilities of this role are:Lead and manage routine maintenance and respond to equipment faultsDiagnose breakdowns, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective remediesDevelop and undertake comprehensive planned maintenance programsOversee the fitting of new parts and ensure equipment is working efficientlyLead the installation and maintenance of building services, plant, and related piping systemsProvide leadership and mentorship to junior maintenance engineersEstablish and maintain advanced maintenance strategies, procedures, and methodsAnalyze and optimize equipment performance to improve efficiency and reduce downtimeParticipate in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety and regulatory standardsCollaborate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and ensure quality standards are upheldTo be successful in this role you will need:Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a maintenance engineering role, preferably within a manufacturing environmentA relevant tertiary qualification would be a bonusStrong diagnostic skills, including root cause analysis and troubleshooting complex systemsLeadership experience, with the ability to mentor and guide a team of engineersKnowledge of a variety of factory equipment, such as size reduction machines, fillers, conveyors, and PLCsFamiliarity with health, safety, and regulatory compliance requirementsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholdersOn offer is a competitive compensation, ongoing training and opportunities for career advancement.
