About the team | Ko te ropu nei Our Survey Team is part of the Technical Services and Design Unit who are an in-house shared service comprised of technical and design professionals responsible for providing specialist advice and services across the Council. The Survey Team deliver a diverse range of engineering and cadastral survey services in support of both capital and operational projects, which contribute to the growth and success of our City. These services include water supply, stormwater and wastewater utilities, roading, housing and recreation facilities. About the role | Ko te mahi nei In this role, you will have true ownership over your work and will be responsible for seeing projects from conception right through to delivery. With full ownership comes full accountability so you'll need to be results focused and passionate about getting things right for the good of the community. Responsibilities include: Providing cadastral and engineering surveying services for water supply, stormwater and wastewater utilities, roading, housing and recreation facilities to enable delivery of the Council's capital programme. Acting as senior professional advisor for issues relating to legal and engineering surveying. Providing advice to Property Consultancy and Legal Services relating to property purchases for Capital Programme projects. Experience undertaking legalisation surveys and working with earthquake affected boundaries in Canterbury will mean you will be well equipped to hit the ground running and can start making an impact from day one. The team utilise a variety of modern survey equipment including UAV's, so extensive experience in this area would be an advantage. About you | Ko Koe Tenei To be successful in this role, it is essential you hold a current Cadastral Licence and have a thorough understanding of the Canterbury Property Boundaries and Related Matters Act as you will be responsible for lodging cadastral survey datasets with Land Information New Zealand. As a senior professional advisor, you will have significant experience from a similar complex organisation and the ability to contribute to the ongoing learning and development of others within Council. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
