Senior Libraries Council Services Assistant - ArtsWe have a rare and exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Library & Council Service Assistant - Arts.38-hr, Permanent Part time within the Franklin Community Hub team in the Franklin Local Board.Join our team of talented professionals.The Franklin Community Hub team delivers library, council, art/gallery shop services and supports a range of programmes and events. We are seeking a 38-hour senior position, that includes working fortnightly Saturday.In this customer-focused role, you will be contributing to the day-to-day running of the library and art gallery services based primarily at our Pukekohe site at Franklin: The Centre, where the Pukekohe Library and Franklin Arts Centre are situated.No two days will be the same. You will be answering a wide range of enquiries from assisting customers to access art exhibitions, creative classes, and community programming, to delivering both library and council services such as readers advisory, rates information, and dog registrations.This senior role has additional responsibilities, including the oversight of the administrative tasks that support the art gallery shop. There will be a focus on streamlining some of the financial administrative tasks with library administration and services. As part of the library and arts team, this role is crucial in how we work together to provide a unique and enriching experience for every customer, encompassing both aspects of the service.Flexibility, adaptability, superb people skills, a willingness to learn, a passion for customer service, and a can-do attitude are essential.The ideal candidate will demonstrate:An ability and willingness to step up as one of the senior people on site, resolving issues as they arise.Strong skills in database administration and knowledge of council services and systems, for example, SAP CRM.An understanding and appreciation of the role that both art and library have in community development.A willingness to help create a whanau environment where everyone works together to achieve team goals.Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills.Confidence with the use of technology and who can support customers to successfully navigate information resources and council systems.An advantage with some knowledge of the Arts.An understanding of Te Ao Maori values and principles and has experience working with a diverse range of people.A collaborative, innovative, and continuous improvement approach to your work.Worked across fortnightly Saturdays, mainly based in Pukekohe, but with the flexibility to work across the Franklin Local Board area.We offer a welcoming and supportive team, fantastic regulars, and a strong community.As part of our Auckland Council Group, you will gain access to many benefits and discounts.
