Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Counsellor Education We are seeking a senior lecturer or associate professor within our Counsellor Education programmes which are known nationally and internationally for their focus on narrative approaches to counselling.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who will bring excellent practice and research records and a recognised contribution to the counselling profession to contribute to a team dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision. As a senior lecturer or associate professor, your well-defined programme of research will help to advance research capacities and undertake professional/community/iwi service activities in the Counsellor Education field. You will have a record of leadership that includes mentorship, guidance, and support for other staff.
The level of appointment will depend on the successful candidate's relevant skills, knowledge and experience. Salary will be in the range of Senior Lecturer from $107,177 to $140,599 per year and Associate Professor from $142,358 to $157,018 per year.
You will have a quality record of professional experience in counselling and a desire to bring your expertise to our Counsellor Education programme. In addition to a PhD in Counselling or a relevant discipline, you will have a passion for teaching our students, with recent counselling practice and professional supervision experience. It is essential to be a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors or another relevant professional organisation.
You will have broad and in-depth knowledge of narrative therapy and mediation, social constructionist theory, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and whakaaro Maori, and counselling ethics.
