The Pacific International Hotel Management School in New Plymouth provides world-class hotel management programmes that provide highly relevant industry-focused training in a simulated hotel environment. PIHMS seeks a professional lecturer to contribute to the organisation's teaching and research efforts in Business Evaluation. The lecturer will deliver a range of courses at the degree and postgraduate/master's levels to domestic and international students eager to qualify as professionals in the global hospitality industry.
The senior lecturer will be an experienced academic active in their research. They will continue to build their research portfolio and enhance their teaching interests and pedagogical practice of student-centred learning, delivering high-quality learning engagements. PIHMS' Senior Lecturers are expected to supervise Master's thesis students.
The senior lecturer we seek to appoint must educate talented minds in Business Evaluation methods and practices appropriate to the Hotel industry.
We would love to hear from you if you:
Have a professional accounting qualification or PhD degree in finance.
Have supervised research at the master's degree level.
Can prepare and deliver master-level programs, including online delivery and producing high-quality curriculum or program materials.
Have an emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs that will contribute to existing discipline fields, as evidenced by publications and research initiatives.
Have experience in the provision of academic leadership and direction for students.
Are experienced in and committed to the principles of adult learning.
Have an awareness of the broad context of the process of learning.
To succeed in this role, the Senior Lecturer must actively promote and support the programs by establishing and maintaining relationships with academic, industry, and professional communities. The Senior Lecturer is also expected to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics within the educational team and support all colleagues and students regarding developments in their subject area or specialisation.
