This is a fixed-term role for 12 months in the Suncorp legal team. This is a critical role to provide legal advice across a range of legal, regulatory and strategic matters, as well as BAU functions such as claims, underwriting and insurance.

The role will require you to provide advice on a diverse range of issues including:
Regulatory changes and compliance matters.
Contractual arrangements and agreements.
Marketing and other communications, contractual issues including those relating to intermediaries.
Claims and policy response.
Dispute resolution and settlement negotiation.
Delivering training to the business.
This opportunity is a challenging one requiring you to proactively liaise closely with a number of internal stakeholders including senior leaders across the business in NZ.
What we are looking for:
Law Degree or equivalent and admission as a solicitor with current practising certificate in New Zealand (Mandatory)
7+ years PQE in civil litigation in private or in-house practice
Working knowledge of insurance law in New Zealand
Excellent written and oral communication skills
An ability to build and maintain and support strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels
Strong understanding of the commercial and strategic context for insurance in New Zealand
