The Role Millbrook Resort's landscape is iconic, the peaceful setting allows people to 'escape the everyday,' as they enter the resort. The role provides the opportunity to ensure the gardens around the resort and the properties are maintained to the highest horticultural standards, providing quality services and adding real value to the operation. This is a key position and the successful candidate will need to have strong focus on excellence and being part of a collaborative team, with a 'can do' attitude and a flexible approach. We are looking for someone who love working outdoors in all weather conditions and has a knowledge of a variety of Landscape maintenance activities. Success Profile 2 - 3 years previous gardening experience desirable Proven experience in operating small plant machinery such as chainsaws desirable Knowledge of maintenance activities such as irrigation control, arboriculture, lawn management and pest control are desired Excellent communication skills, coupled with a 'can do' attitude Must be physically fit and able to regularly lift weights greater than 20kg Willingness to learn new tasks and develop horticultural knowledge Self-driven with an ability to work independently Relevant horticulture qualification would be advantageous Location: Arrowtown, Queenstown Hours: Full time permanent (30/40 hours per week guaranteed) Q&A with Leo - Landscape Supervisor: Describe to the day-to-day role of a landscape gardener? The role is filled with variety, this includes monitoring the health of all plants and gardens, either private or estate. We water and feed plants as well as trimming trees, shrubs, and hedges to ensure they meet our 5-star standard. The role involves weeding the gardens around and keeping the green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter. We collaborate on creating new flower beds and gardens across the resort.
