(Senior) Laboratory Analyst

Details of the offer

Ruminant BioTech (Senior) Laboratory Analyst
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Auckland
Business Overview
Ruminant BioTech (RBT) is an Auckland-based, early-stage Ag-Biotech company on a mission to solve the global challenge of reducing methane emissions from ruminant livestock. RBT has developed an innovative solution to this problem: a slow-release bolus that delivers high and sustained levels of methane knockdown.
With a strong R&D pipeline, differentiated competitive positioning, and a clear pathway to commercialization in 2025, RBT is seeking a Senior Laboratory Analyst to help RBT fulfill its potential as a game-changing enteric emissions reduction solution for global livestock.
The Role
We are seeking a full-time Lab Analyst to join our RBT laboratory team in Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand. The laboratory team plays a critical role in our product development journey. As a team member, your responsibilities will include conducting analytical testing (mainly by GC), manufacturing benchtop prototypes, and routine lab tasks. You will also maintain a safe and efficient laboratory by reviewing and improving laboratory processes. You will report to the RBT Laboratory Manager and collaborate with the Head of Analytical Development to transfer analytical methods to the lab team to conduct product assays and stability tests. Depending on your affinities and previous experience, you will also be able to run your own infrastructure improvement or analytical development projects.
This position requires a strong foundation in laboratory work, focusing on general and analytical chemistry. Your responsibilities will include planning, conducting, and documenting experiments. In addition to technical expertise, candidates should demonstrate strong prioritization and collaboration skills essential for success in an early-stage biotech company. This role is suitable for junior and senior candidates.
Desired Qualifications
Several years of demonstrated laboratory experience preferably in analytical testing.
Previous experience in GC-FID/MS, HPLC including instrument maintenance.
Experience in laboratory process improvements and authoring laboratory-related documents, e.g., risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
Experience in training and coaching junior laboratory staff.
Experience in stability and release testing.
Join a highly innovative company with exciting technology and huge potential to solve a critical global challenge. You'll be helping make a genuine difference with a purpose-driven company culture. Competitive remuneration package. The scope is to grow and develop as the company does—a high degree of autonomy within a flexible working environment.
