Salary midpoint for this position is $115,691 per annum.Korero mo te Turanga - About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Investment Adviser to join our Programmes and Planning directorate which sits within the Policy & Trade business unit. This directorate is home to MPI's key agriculture and climate change programmes, including the Accelerating New Mitigations (ANM) Programme.The Accelerating New Mitigations Programme is established to accelerate research, development and commercialisation of tools for farmers to reduce their methane and nitrous oxide emissions.The Senior Investment Adviser will lead and support the administration of investments and contracts under the ANM Programme.Working on a range of high priority contracts, you will develop and maintain relationships with key partners, including product developers, research and service providers to support them in developing new solutions for New Zealand farmers to ensure a prosperous sector.As part of this role, you will :Support the efficient and effective implementation of the Accelerating New Mitigation Programme and Fund by delivering activities throughout all stages of the funding lifecycle implementing best practice funds management.Oversee performance of projects and programmes within assigned portfolio, ensuring project performance and financial management are on track, and for allocated funds, overall fund financial forecasting and tracking.Support the alignment of funding programmes to MPI's strategic priorities and ensure Office of the Auditor General best practice funds management guidelines are followed.Mou - About YouYou will likely be working, or have worked in a business advisory, commercial, or investment role, and possess a strong understanding of investment principles and the provision of strategic advice.The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, a solution-focused approach, and a proven ability to forge effective partnerships.You will draw on specialist knowledge and experience to effectively present data in a manner that is easily understood by a range of audiences.To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate :Relevant experience in a highly similar working environment; or extensive experience as a business adviser supporting large to medium programmes of work.Demonstrated experience in project management.Good interpersonal and communications skills, especially an ability to deliver technical information in a simple and helpful way.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Previous experience in establishing and effectively maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, Maori and Government agencies.Sound understanding of the primary sector innovation and industry-development context as it applies to the agricultural and horticultural sector.You do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply.
