We are a cohesive team with a strong sense of justice and a vibrant culture.About the roleWe are looking for a Senior Investigator – Evaluations to join our Evaluations team. This is a full-time, permanent role and can be based in either our Auckland office located in Commercial Bay, Auckland CBD or Wellington office located in Wellington CBD.Our Evaluation Team is the first point of contact for any allegation of financial crime reported to the SFO. Led by a Principal, you will be responsible for assessing complaints and referrals and making recommendations on appropriate actions to address them. You will use your investigation experience and technical knowledge to proactively detect serious or complex fraud, including corruption.You will communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including complainants, victims, and other government agencies. As a member of our wider Detection and Prevention Team, you will share investigation and case learnings to enhance prevention activities.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have significant investigative experience with the technical knowledge and skills required to detect and investigate serious or complex financial crime. You will have either experience as a qualified Detective with a law enforcement agency or as a fraud investigator with a government agency, regulator, or financial institution. You will be known for your thoroughness, dependability, and sound judgement, and retain these attributes when working within time constraints and on matters of significance.You will have a comprehensive understanding of how business activity is documented, recorded, reported, managed, and controlled – and critically know when things don't look right. It is important that you are eligible to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for this position.
